If you're a senior photographer, chances are you are using some form of a "What to Wear" or Style Guide that you send your clients prior to the session to make sure they are 100% prepped for their session with you.
I mean..... I hope you are!
But the problem with most of the style guide templates that have been around for the last few years is that they were created with millennial clients in mind - or worse, parents. 😱
And that, my friend, is not going to convert for your Gen Z clients.
This is the generation that doesn't even use the 😂 emoji anymore and .. *gasp*.. judges us old peeps for wearing skinny jeans & having a side part 😬.
So, first of all, if you aren't speaking to your Gen Z target client in your marketing, that is a problem that I can help you with. I've been researching this amazing group of change-makers for the last several years so you don't have to. I got you.
In compiling data on Gen Z for my free Facebook group of senior photographers and for my coaching students, I realized that our industry was missing out on a Style Guide that could really speak to them - in language they understand and value.
It's 2021 and the world has changed more in the last nine months than it has in years. It is time to listen to our clients and what THEY want.
Overwhelmingly, when asked, Gen Z clients mention that they are far more likely to buy from any business that embodies the values of inclusivity and open-mindedness.
Is your senior business set up to provide that?
With this Style Guide, you will be able to help your clients bring their best selves to their session, while feeling seen and heard.
For instance, in the section on body types and help for what to wear for each shape, nowhere will see you "don't do". Who are WE to tell these teens what they shouldn't be wearing based on their body shape?
You also won't see any mention of "inappropriate clothing" or any type of body shaming verbiage. Our job as senior photographers is to help these young people navigate their experience with us in the most positive and most accepting way.
Your style guide should reflect that.
Whether your brand will gel with Gen Z clients or not is 100% up to YOU.
This style guide will help you stand out from all the other senior photographers who are still using outdated what to wear guides.
It'll help you connect with your clients.
